Hicks and Byers v. WMPD et al Index
Hobbs v. Pasdar et al In November 2007, Natalie Pasdar of the Dixie Chicks posted statements on the Dixie Chicks website and on her MySpace page in which she encouraged readers to support the "West Memphis Three," and, according to a lawsuit filed by Terry Wayne Hobbs, stepfather of Steve Branch, claimed that DNA evidence from the crime scene and other evidence linked Hobbs to the murders of the three boys. In December 2007, Pasdar appeared at a rally in Little Rock, Arkansas and made statements consistent with those that were made in her internet letter. Hobbs contends that the statements made by Pasdar amounts to a false accusation that he committed the murders and that such a false accusation has damaged his reputation and he seeks damages for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and false light invasion on privacy.
